Inspired by my deep love
of nature and animals, I have spent most of my
life outdoors and have worked with animals all
my life in many capacities: as horse rider and
trainer in Dressage for many years, as a stable
manager, and as a veterinary technician for a
short time. I have also enjoyed kayaking for the
past 17 years. My artwork reflects these
interests and my knowledge of these subjects.
Though painting has not,
until recently, been my primary focus and means
of livelihood, it has always been a large part
of my life and is what I have always returned to
again and again through all of life's
challenges. My pertinent education includes a
Bachelor of Fine Art in painting from Northern
Illinois University, art teacher training from
State University of New York at New Paltz, an
A.A.S. in Veterinary technology from S.U.N.Y.
Delhi. I studied for 4 years with Joan Cornish
Willies, a noted miniature artist and teacher,
as well as various other workshops and classes.
I don't believe we are
ever finished learning and strive to constantly
improve my technique and understanding.
Flexibility is important to me; I paint in
acrylics and oils, large works to miniatures. I
have experience teaching drawing and painting
and am available to teach privately in my
studio. I am also available to do commissioned
paintings of animal subjects, with a particular
interest in horses. I can be reached at
